Mobilité Francophone (exception code C16 for LMIA)
To promote Francophone immigration in Francophone minority communities in Canada.

  • Do you normally speak French at home and where you work?
  • Or do you have a CLB 7 Canadian Language Benchmark in French?
  • Do you want to come to Canada and find a job/ employment and become a permanent resident?
  • If you are a French skilled worker this may be your opportunity to immigrate to Canada.

Job Offer – the foreign national is

  • Retained to work in a province or territory outside Quebec.
  • Qualified to work in managerial professional technical or skilled trades occupation NOC (national occupation classification) 0, A or B).
  • Note – The employer may require that the worker can also speak some English.

Advantage – under this work permit stream, a French speaking person is able to apply for an employment without an LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment), which means that the foreign national is able to compete freely with a permanent resident or Canadian citizen for the job.

Family members are eligible to apply to study or work. Minor children may be exempt from a study permit.
